I upgraded my DLL to yesterday's snapshot and ran the build through a 
further 80 iterations.  No failures.

I still believe you have a local issue.

Incidentally, if you're reading this, Corinna: the iterations are about 
2.5x faster with this DLL.  What'd you do? :)
