I know my question was long but the Cygwin web page said detailed questions are preferred. Even if you don't know the answer to my question, could you at least tell me if there's a specific process for upgrading from 1.5 to 1.7? I searched (http://www.google.com/search?q=cygwin+upgrade+1.5+to+1.7) but I couldn't find anything. Since Win7 is not supported under 1.5 and I was having a problem with sshd+1.5+Win7, I'm not sure what else to do but ask here. If 1.7 just isn't ready for even casual use, that would be a fair answer, too. I realize it's a beta. I assume you missed this?
