Under Cygwin-1,5, trying:

tar -xvf binutils-2.19.51-1-src.tar.bz2

gives:

---------------------------------------------------------
[...]
binutils-2.19.51-1/opcodes/m32c-dis.c
binutils-2.19.51-1/opcodes/m32c-ibld.c
binutils-2.19.51-1/opcodes/m32c-opc.c

bzip2: Compressed file ends unexpectedly;
perhaps it is corrupted? *Possible* reason follows.
bzip2: No error
Input file = (stdin), output file = (stdout)

It is possible that the compressed file(s) have become corrupted.
You can use the -tvv option to test integrity of such files.

You can use the `bzip2recover' program to attempt to recover
data from undamaged sections of corrupted files.

tar: EOF inatteso nell'archivio
tar: EOF inatteso nell'archivio
tar: Errore irrimediabile: uscita immediata
---------------------------------------------------------

Besides this, may you update also for Cygwin-1.5? Several problems I
encountered building GCC 4 snapshot were found under 1.5...

Thanks,
Angelo.
