The space was introduced by bje four years ago: http://sourceware.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/src/bfd/Makefile.am.diff?r1=1.133&r 2=1.134&cvsroot=src Then it was removed again, last year, in http://sourceware.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/src/bfd/Makefile.am.diff?r1=1.187&r 2=1.188&cvsroot=src with the comment * Makefile.am (bfdver.h): Use "." not " " between version number and date.
