Hi
Firstly, thanks for the earlier help on installing DBD::Oracle on Cygwin. I upgraded from 9i to 10g client and got to install DBD::Oracle 1.21 successfully.

I am now looking to install Apache 2.2.8 on Cygwin.
To this end I downloaded the appropriate tarball from Apache
cd httpd-2.2.8
configure
make
make install

All of the above went off without a hitch, but now when I try to start the server as
 /usr/local/apache2/bin/apachectl -k start

I get error
httpd: bad user name daemon
I replaced it with the user name on my windows machine but that too didn't help

I am looking to ultimately install mod_perl and work with MayPole.

Any input on the above is appreciated
Dunston
