From the main office of Microsoft headquarters in Redmond a letter has
been sent to Redhat stating that after carefully examining the cygwin
dll, numerous copyright infringements turned up.

This also means that numerous ported software authors are in trouble as
the infringements on microsofts patents also count for the software,
using and distributing the cygwin .dll.

In the mean time while preparing for legal measures, Microsoft has
prepared a HotFix to warn victims of running rogue software and offering
licenses to buy ofline that will set everything straight and allow for
further legal use of cygwins .dll. The name of the hotfix will be
KB01042007.
