I have a Unix application which I have to port on Windows using Cygwin. 1] Are there any best practices for doing this. 2] Secondly, if my application is using some 3rd party libraries then should I have the windows versions of these 3rd party libraries. What I mean is if my application is using say a shared object XYZ.so on linux then to be able to compile my application on Windows using Cygwin, can I use the same XYZ.so from linux or do I need to have XYZ.dll Thanks in advance.
