Actually, no.  If you don't receive a response with your first inquiry,
sending a copy of the first prefaced with an argument that you're repeating
your plea isn't the right approach.  It often leads to the opposite result
of what you want.

FWIW, I saw no problem when I tried your test case, though at the time, I
was working with an earlier version of 'coreutils' at the time.  I haven't
had a chance to update and rerun yet.
