I want to use rsync to backup files from a Windows server to a Linux server.

rsync is running as a daemon on a Windows side.

Copying files work fine, but unfortunately, any filename that contains
non-standard characters (like German umlauts - Ü, Ö, Ä etc.) is
converted into "?".

This is the same as if I mounted a Windows share on a Linux server
without specifying iocharset=utf8 option.

Is there any solution for this? I saw some reference on the list in a
post one year ago, but no solution.
