No, I was wondering about the default line endings you chose at install
time.  I was also wondering if you were writing to a text mode mount.  If
the compiler you speak of does not use O_BINARY in its open call, then
those things matter.  A cygcheck output would be usefull to determine some
of that.

You're calling a cygwin DLL (not -mno-cygwin) from matlab?  I don't think
this will work in the general sense.  You may have been lucky before.

Same cygwin DLL version?

I'm probably not going to be much more help here without a lot more
information as I've never used matlab.
