I was already ok with the ssh errors, I was only concerned about the path issues I was seeing. $HOME and the shell are not the problem I was trying to solve and both seem to be the same regardless of how the line was called. You definately saw what I missed, Thanks!! I broke my own rule, always use absolute paths rather than depending on $PATH to be always right.
