Hi,

I have installed Postgresql 7.1.3 thru Cygwin on Win98. I know that it is
not supported right now. I tried mailing mha@sollentuna.net but did not get
any reply.

I do an "initdb" which goes through OK. The postmaster also starts thru
pg_ctl. But when I do a "psql template1", I get

pq_flush: send() failed: The descriptor is a file, not a socket
pq_recvbuf: recv() failed: The descriptor is a file, not a socket

and psql hangs. So I cannot create other databases thru createdb.

IPC seems to work fine.

Any ideas? Any other alternatives.

Thanks and regards,

Sushil Kumar
