One can build ghostscript 6.50 (and above I guess) under the basic Cygwin (ie without xfree stuff): to do that you have to modify the unix Makefiles distributed in the gs sources in concequense. > > /cygwin/contrib has ghostscript 5.50, however it is known that this does > not handle computer modern type 1 fonts. Only 6.01 and above do that. Ghostscript 6.01 and above can not be distributed within cygwin due to the new License term: see archive deeper information.
