Hello,

I sucessfully installed cygwin, latest version 1.1.8.

doing 
"latex file.tex"
I get an error message, latex.fmt is not found

There is a directory  /usr/share/texmf with the only subdirectories
  fontname and web2c
From another tetex installation I know there should be more...

Do I have to install the fonts separately or what is wrong ?
