   I also have other BASH troubles with the latest net distr.

  Quite often, but I can not give an exact suite of commands that will
allways 
lead to that, 
  BASH gets into a state where the window is only one or two lines !!

  This happened to me at least when I tried to recompile GDB v5.0 for cygwin !


   I sent the result of cygcheck -s -v a few mails in the list before !

  The only thing that I would like to mention here is that I used a French
keyboard
if this is of any interest !
