Thanks for all your information. I have made some progress,
but the rsh problem remains. The 'localhost' entry is there.
The problem seems more with 'rsdh' actually. Win2k 'rsh' returns
a similar error when 'inetd' service is activated (i.e. no RSH
service from Win2k). I suspect that something goes wrong when

The error is:  MYMACHINE: Host address mismatch for MYMACHINE
where MYMACHINE is the Win name of 'localhost'.
