Found it myself (RTFM) and created an according .inputrc

Hello,

my bash input line seems to accept just characters in the range of 7-bi=
t-ASCII. On a German keyboard I am not able to type any of the umlauts =
(=E4=F6=FC). Even on a UK based keyboeard layout I cannot enter letters=
 like =E1=C1=E9=C9 (e.g. CTRL+ALT+A). Also the Windows direct input mod=
e using ALT+0+ASCII-Code is not available. Just to mension: I have not =
.inputrc (mensioned in another thread with a similar problem) and I won=
der wether there is any configuration possibility to make these charact=
ers available?
