If the files were created by you and you are part of the administrator group, the files are OWNED by the administrator ID. If your userid is not the administrator then you only have read/execute rights. I ran into this with a very simple makefile about 2 weeks ago. I wasn't the administrator, but was part of the administrator group. I could not write into the directory because the Administrator id owned it.
