Hi, I'm not on the mailing list. Sorry if this is
frustratingly newbie or anything.
I am not a programmer, but I do prefer to compile programs
from source instead of using precompiled binaries. (I can
vaguely get the gist of c code in simple programs when I look
at the source.)
PGCC's website implies that using PGCC instead of GCC would
do me well--I am using an i686 linux system. I would like to
know how to compare programs compiled with PGCC to those
compiled with GCC, so as to see what kind of improvements I
get. I'm also wondering whether PGCC is really worth the
trouble for me, considering how I don't know much about
programming, benchmarking, or optimizing code. Thanks in
advance.
