Hello again,

Mea culpa--using optimization -O1 runs into the other major ICE in fatal_insn,
while compiling com.c.  Using -O0 runs into a third ICE, also in fatal_insn,
at data.c

Looks like those insn's have it in for us, eh?  ;)
