Have you correctly set your local timezone? (check your /etc/locatime, use
something like "zic -l CET" to set the system timezone)

Upgrading a system to glibc isn't to be taken lightly. There are lots
of changes and enhancements ("more things one has to configure"). Its
better to upgrade your system to glibc from a distribution, otherwise
you mix up glibc changes AND pgcc changes.
