I am not on the mailing list- so any answers please if it's not to much trouble- could you send them direct? ok- the problem is compilation of the later 2.1 linux kernels- specifically I have tried 2.1.98 through 2.1.105 the problem is they compile fine with -O3, but they lock up mid-way through booting with anything higher. (after adding the swap partition- but then you can press control-c and it continues as far as saying the root directory is fine, but then locks up for good) if anyone knows which file(s) cause the problem, and/or which optimization (obviously one enabled in O4 and not in O3) I would be most grateful. (heh heh- also if anyone knows why the RS program segfaults during the stage1 build process of RSCHEME on linux...) graspee (jpa102 AT cs DOT york DOT ac DOT uk)
