Summary:
Compiling version 0.31b3 of xmame (http://drake.dit.upm.es/~mame/)
with -O3 will produce a binary which segfaults as soon as it's set up the
audio. (tested on gauntlet if it matters)
With -O2, it all works.
The problem has been tracked to the "mame.c" file, and there's four versions
of mame.o available for FTP from ftp://dwmw2.robinson.cam.ac.uk/pub/egcs-bug
mame.o.bad-O3-1.0.2 Compiled with pgcc-1.0.2, -O3
mame.o.bad-O3-980502 Compiled with pgcc-980502, -O3
mame.o.good-O2-1.0.2
mame.o.good-O2-980502 I'm sure you can work it out.
The compiled version of the application is also there:
xmame.linux-ok and xmame.linux-broken
You'll also find the command line used for gcc, and the output of "gcc -v" on
each compiler.
Anything else I can provide?
