pgcc-2.90.23 980102 (egcs-1.0.1 release) (djgpp) failed to compile
ZLib  1.1.2 correctly, switches for gcc are:
 -MMD -O6 -Wall -Wwrite-strings -Wpointer-arith -Wconversion 
-Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-prototypes -mpentium
