>From sometime after pgcc 97-11-14 to the present time pgcc has caused
problems with linux 2.0.33 Specifically the problem is that when I use
pgcc, xwindows seg-faults on loading. I tried compiling the kernel with
pgcc, then switched back to gcc 2.7.2 (which worked). I did not make
any changes to kernel configuration. I have compiled a lot of other
programs with pgcc without problems, so I mucked with the kernel a lot
before writting the newsgroup.

I believe that I have the most receint version of all of the software
that is used to build the kernel (ld binutils libc etc) I am using
libc5. I don't konw what else is relavent, if need to know anything
else just ask....

Oh yeah, when I compile 2.1.88 with pgcc X-Windows does work, but I get
what sound like dma problems with my sound card(digital sound will work
for a while, then it will work for .25 second then a chunk of fuzz then
..25 second of correct sound, then chunk of fuzz.....) This is with a
soundblaster awe 32, irq 5 dma 1 and 5.

I am not subscribed to the newsgroup, so please at least cc me :)

Thanks for any help in advance,
