was upgraded to freebsd-2.2.5 (along with the long awaited disk upgrade),
and was hung in a crash-loop (because we tried to use an seldomly used and
broken freebsd-feature).

It seems that I could restore the site to working state, could everybody
check wether their ftp/html files (if any) are ok, since the backup tape
couldn't be restored, and I had to restore by "different means" (you don't
want to know).

If the file is there, it should be ok (i.e. there is no file corruption), so
checking for existance should suffice.

(hmm, it seems the os2/ icons are missing..)

well.... at least linux isn't the only unix clone with these kind
of unexplicable problems...
