In almost all cases, signal 11 indicates a problem with your hardware. Did
you overclock your CPU, or are you using over-agressive memory timings?

I've compiled X11R6.3 w/ XFree86 3.3.1 with pgcc without any problems,
which is another indication that the problem is specific to your machine.
