Never used telnet, but for FTP and web access, I very often use Arachne.
You don't mention, so I'll assume you are using a modem - but is it a
real modem or is it a "WinModem"? If it's not a real modem, then this
will be your problem.
Assuming a real modem, I find Arachne 1.70r3 (www.arachne.cz), with
LSPPP 0.8 (members.tripod.com/~ladsoft/lsppp) and my LSPPPCFG
1.01/2.00 package (jds-freeware.hypermart.net) works quite well (BTW,
you'll also need my PATCH17X package, else PATCH16X for Arachne
1.66 or Arachne 1.69).
