> I used Norton AV 2002 on my computer and did not get a hit on this > *.bat bug. I do have a message from Joe Smith and it has an attachment > which is not mentioned in the body of the message. Is this the > location of the bug? > Nothing to worry about, as far as I could tell. It appears that one of the list members has anti-virus software configured to reject any attached .bat file. Another member made a humorous(?) reply to the automated warning: > computer must be exterminated > immediately.will proceed to format all disk drives starting with > drive C Joe Smith's message dated Mon, 4 Mar 2002 08:47:59 contained a config.sys, an autoexec.bat, and output of a "MEM" command, and they were mentioned in the body of the message. In other words, nothing unusual for a message from a user asking for help with DOS.
