Responding to your interest in audio recording with DOS, I have found a programme called DSS that works extremely well on my Compaq Armada laptop. I don't know what DSS stands for, but I recommend it highly. It is extremely easy to install and to use. There is no configuring to do, and it gives a beautiful display. If you want more information I can try to track down a source for it. Michael Snowden mss AT sri DOT lanka DOT net
