Well, I havenīt used Windows 3.xx for a long while now, however,
I am positively sure that it worked on my machine and I have
seen it documented this way as well. I was using Windows 3.10
(not Windows for Workgroups) on a 386sx18/8 Mb.
The trick is, as you say, that MS TASKMAN.EXE must be replaced
by the DR TASKMGR.EXE file, something that should happen auto-
matically when installing DR-DOS and including the "Windows setup".
Otherwise, the changes are documented in the README.TXT or
my NWDOSTIP.TXT (MPDOSTIP.ZIP) documents.

Well, when you start TASKMGR /S as a task switcher you should
be able to run Windows 3.xx in 386 Enhanced Mode. However, when
you run TASKMGR as a preemptive multitasker, Windows 3.xx can
only run in Standard (or Real) Mode. If you create multiple DOS
sessions before starting Windows, you should be able to see,
delete or even create them in the Windows task list later on.
One thing to keep in mind is that Windows 3.xx is a VCPI client,
not a DPMI client (as the patched WinOS/2 Windows version),
and TASKMGR must for technical reasons suspend a VCPI task
in background.
Try TASKMGR /S with WfW and letīs see if this helps.
If this does not work for you, Iīm afraid, I donīt have
any idea how to solve it. But I would be interested in
reports from other users of Windows 3.xx.
Greetings,
Matthias
