Hi all,

I have one of these modern boxes which switches off automatically when
you do a "shutdown" in Windows. If I try to switch it off when in DOS it
just goes into standby mode (screen goes off, but power is still on).

My question is, is there a way to make it act the same way in DOS? Is
there a command I can issue similar to Windows which will switch the box
off?
The only way I can currently get if off after being in DOS is to
re-boot to Windows and do a "shutdown", or to switch it off immediately
upon re-boot (I can switch it off while it's still under the control of
the BIOS, but not once DOS takes over). I am reluctant to use the latter
method as you could be switching it off while the disk is in the middle of
a read (which wouldn't be good for the disk I imagine).

   I have DR-DOS 7.03, and various versions of MS-DOS (Win95, Win98SE).

regards,
