Actually it is comaptible with Netware 4.0. It is a peer to peer network
instead of a dedicated server like netware is. It is also an upgrade
from Netware Lite and if you had netware Lite they had a special offer
for upgrading to PNW for $39.95. A freind of mine used Lite for his BBS
network and I told him about this and he ordered the upgrade which also
included the printed manuals for PNW.

My best guess it is some sort of subset of netware 4.0 or 4.11but
rewritten as a peer to peer network Most likely combining the peer to
peer of Lite with 4.0 or 4.11.

The client is compatible with 4.0, and WINDOZE peer to peer, but the
sever is not compatible with WINDOZE 3x or 9x or NT.
There are TIDs that tell how to use it with 3x and 9x.

In Linux, it will work with Samba.

I never could get it to work with 3.1 or WFWG 3.11. I could never get
the ISHLP??? driver or TSR whatever it is to load. I always got an
error. That was on my 386. I have not tried it on this system, but do
think I did attempt it on my brother's 5x86 system and had the same
problem. I could now try it on my brother's system again and just
install the PNW. I have the program that strips the PNW from the
floppies and makes a floppy set for just PNW. He is now using MSDOS 6.22
because of all the problems he had with that MB. I will give him my MB
when I get the K6 CPU in and install the S1590 MB. Then I'll probably
install DRDOS for him again as that worked fine with WFWG 3.11 for me.
There is just something weird about those VIP motherboards. Especially
with a VLB video card installed which is what he has. I'll Also give him
my ISA S3 video card as I have a new PCI video card.

Pat
