It works perfectly now. There is no need to move gpr files since win98 does
not install them.
Soon i will install a dos browser, mp3 and video
player and maybe a gui (not sure, i'm so tired of double clicking... ;-) ).
I want to thank Patrick Moran for his help and any other on this mailing
list.
By the way, i get only one error during install. File netu2.ovl, during
decompression, but i think the media was corrupted (my floppy are dated
1985... and they still work BASF rulez!!!). I will copy it later.

Well, I want to know if there is someone who uses the Sound blaster live
1024 under drdos. Creative does not release driver for dos, and provides
only emulation for SB16 which gives me trouble in a dos box. Since i have
two sound cards (SB live player 1024 and an integrated chip on the main
board), it would be interesting (and useful) have sound under d. Yes, i have
drivers for the other chipset, but I rather prefer to use my "bigger" card.

 Modem and tcp/ip support are in NWCLIENT?

My config.sys at the moment is a mess, i have only 550k of free ram. And
mem.com reports only 64mb of ram (using win9x himem.sys gives problem with
emm386?). I forgot to install the cd extensions. I have an old oti driver
(1996) which i still use in boot disks now.
It would be better do download a newer one?

DEVICE=C:\DRDOS\EMM386.EXE MULTI DPMI=ON FRAME=AUTO /V
DEVICE=C:\DRDOS\DPMS.EXE
DEVICE=C:\DRDOS\SETVER.EXE (should the last two loaded in high memory?)
SHELL=C:\DRDOS\COMMAND.COM C:\DRDOS\ /E:512 /P:AUTODOS7.BAT
BREAK=OFF
BUFFERS=80 (i think it is too much, Patrick Moran suggested me to use max
30. I have some games that requires buffers=40 [ultima VIII] )
FILES=20 (on my 386 i used to set this to 30 and buffers to 40)
FCBS=4,4 (dont remember what is it)
FASTOPEN=512 (I think it is similar to windows file caching which memorize
the position of files on disk [should 512 be enough?])
LASTDRIVE=C
HISTORY=ON,512,ON
DEVICE=C:\DRDOS\DISPLAY.SYS CON=(EGA,,1)
COUNTRY=39,,C:\DRDOS\COUNTRY.SYS
DOS=HIGH,UMB (i usually put this string at the beginning after emm386)

There is a difference between multitasking and task switching? I noticed
that you can only select one during install.

and this is my autodos7.bat
@ECHO Off
PATH C:\DRDOS;C:\NWCLIENT;;C:\
EMM386 PIC=ON
DPMI OFF
MODE CON: CP PREP=((850) C:\DRDOS\EGA.CPI)
mode con codepage select=850
KEYB IT+
VERIFY OFF
PROMPT $P$G
SET DRDOSCFG=C:\DRDOS
NLSFUNC C:\DRDOS\COUNTRY.SYS
CHCP 850
SHARE /L:20
NWCACHE 7670 1024 /LEND=ON /DELAY=ON
?"Enable Task Manager (Y/N) ?"TASKMGR

Thanx again. White Dragon alias Gerardo Emanuele Giorgio.
