This is true for any system that has a lot of cards installed and/or
harddrives.

Yes this is true. The older boards would only go to 450Mhz (i.e. 4.5X
multiplier) However, if I remember correctly they do have a 5x multiplie
setting that is undocumented in their manual. This is not really a
problem if someone wishes to use a K6-3 processor.Also another note
about CPUs and this MB, the CPU voltage range is 2.0 to 3.3V. You cannot
use some of the older AMD K6-2 450MHz 3.45V CPUs. Yhere may be other
speed CPUs that use 3.45V as well. They will not run at 3.3V. You rarely
run across these, but if you are bidding on used ones at an auction you
should contact the seller if they did not list the voltage. The K6-3
450MHz CPU I am getting is for a notebook and is 2.0V. This will work in
this MB. Since it was designed for a notebook, it probably does not
really need a fan, but I am installing one anyway as I have many drives
and cards in the system and it will keep the CPU cooler.
