I havenīt tried recently, but from similar reports I got over the years
it could well be that some people are trying to download the file with
a web-browser instead of using a true FTP client. Apparently one some
systems .ZIP or .EXE extensions are not properly recognized as "binary".
Some people also tried to use for example the disk images by saving
what the web-browser was *displaying*. This cannot work for obvious
reasons. A fix might be to change the browser settings, but I would
suggest to try a true FTP. (For Windows 9x users who donīt know
how: just open a DOS box and type "FTP ftp.lineo.com", then enter
"anonymous" as user name, and your email address as password,
navigate on the ftp server with DIR and CD, set transfer mode to
BIN (!!!), and download what you want with GET filename. Help
is usually available with HELP and/or ?, and to quit a FTP session
type BYE.)

Hope it helps,

Matthias
