Like others in this NG, I tried replacing the DRDOS 7.03 kernel files
with the 7.04/7.05 kernel files -- and when I tried to change [e.g.]
AUTOEXEC.BAT, I got the same "Operating System error number 17 File -
c:\autoexec.bat" message I have seen mentioned elsewhere on the net.

However, I just noticed the Ontrack Fix-It Utilities 3.0 Rescue Disk is
based on the DRDOS 7.04/7.05 kernel [no surprise there,] and I see the
AUTOEXEC.BAT runs a program XBIOS -- for which the runtime banner
description is "Hard Disk INT 13H Device Driver". Does anyone know if
the inclusion of this driver resolves any of the DRDOS 7.0x kernel
problems? [NOT "can't boot from FAT32" obviously AND unfortunately!]
