    I will try this the next time I boot DR-DOS.  (At the moment I am

    Actually it does, if you have the appropriate .CPI files.  Once I
used DR-DOS ANSI.SYS, as I mentioned in my followup to my own post, I
was able to load and use code pages 819 (ISO Latin-1) and 913 (ISO
Latin-3) without any problems.  (Ture, DR/MS DOS themselves do not
providce these code pages, but they are publicly available.)

    I got the .CPI files from a site in Germany several years ago.  I
have a link to it at the very bottom of one of my personal web pages:

    I think the site is still there.  At least it was a few minutes
ago, although I did not try to download the files again.  (As I say, at
the moment I am using BeOS.)  If you have a problem fetching them, send
me a private email, and I can send them to you.  The university made
them available for use, as far as I know.
