Well, I hope to have an answer to this in a few days ... I have a copy
of this software which I plan to install when other more urgent work is
completed ...

In the meantime, check with another O/S if this is really an O/S
issue, or the infamous "way too many MIPS" problem. That is,
try booting another O/S on the same hardware and see if the
problem is still there.

Currently, I still have an ancient version of ProComm which works
fine with DR-DOS 7.03, if that's of any help to know ...
