By the same token, Jim's original complaint, your post, and this
one are all completely off-topic for this list. Why couldn't this
have been handled in private email?

We've discussed Jim's mail reader problems before, and several
suggestions were provided. However, every now and then he gets
frustrated and vents to the list. Most of us have learned to
simply ignore it and move on.
