Hi, I am taking a hook on this CONFIG.SYS thread, I hope someone here here may help me: I made a small program to automatically set or change the FILES=100 command in the CONFIG.SYS file. When it finds the command and it is smaller than 100, it is changed to 100; this works ok. The problem is happening when the command is _not_ present in small files that do not have the [COMMON] line and that do not have OPTION. I am adding the command in the _first_ line and Windows98 doesn't recognize it if I boot only in dos mode. Can somebody tell me if it can be safely and allways put after the last line or if it should be after or before some other command? thanks for any help, Alain
