Yeah, that's what I thought - but since it was long enough ago that I wasn't
paying any close attention to the industry I thought I'd probably be wrong.
According to a quick Google, he died in 1994 - Novell bought DRI in 1991, so
my insticts were correct for once :)

BTW, it is perhaps notable that while this page lists a number of
illuminaries (including Gary Kildall), it omits certain personalities (the
one I was hoping not to find, and not disappointed in that respect, goes by
the name Bill):  http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/History/Pioneers/
