Perhaps I was.

The address I'm subscribed as (bernie AT hem1 DOT passagen DOT se, or perhaps hem
instead of hem1) server was down for 15 hours this weekend, so I'll reply
to Patricks message here instead...

Lucky people who don't pay for their connection, I want to have it that way
(again) as well but it's not likely to happen until sometime next year. And
even if I have it I wouldn't force others to download big things.

Perhaps there should have been some sort of information that attachments
aren't allowed on list (I can't remember if there was - I'll take your word
for it). But the standard for sending e-mails are text, even if *you* are
only sending/recieving from people using Outlook.
Assume that you are hitting one of your mates on the shoulder when you meet
him on the street. Do you find this socially acceptable in all cases? No,
since the standard for saying "Hi" to someone does NOT involve hitting the
other person (even if it is lightly).

The point was that you said (among many things):

>It's a piece of MS crap for software called Outlook Express and has

I therefor told you:

1. Outlook Express and InterNet Explorer are two diffrent programs
2. That there are several programs for Windows (including NT) for these tasks
3. That sending as MIME and sending as HTML is the same thing (HTML is sent
as MIME)
4. That sending as HTML or text could be changed in Outlook Express

If you want to complain about something (Outlook and Windows in this case)
do that with valid arguments.

I have a life.

For what? How mails should be sent? Ok... RFCxxxx (I don't know the number
from the top of my head) states that mails should be sent as text. You are
the on who should RTFM (which means Read The Fine/F*cking Manual - so you
can't use it like you did).

Finally I'll ask you what I ask most people that send as HTML - exactly
what is that you gain from sending the mails as HTML as opposed to text?
Most programs will only display the message as if it was sent as text anyway.

- Raw text -
