Pat,
I have downloaded DRDOS several times actually. I made sure I wanted
it, before I bought it. I like having the cd-rom to install from, for
one thing.
Open linux would be just way to big for me to download. I really bad
phone lines in this apartment that limit my connection speed to about
24000bps. I knew I would need some documentation for it too. The cds
are nice too!

I think Lizard, the Caldera installer, isn't detecting my scsi card. It
seems to hang before much gets started. Basically, after Lizard starts,
it can't find a place to install from.

Okay , please do not tell me that. I did look through the manual, and
it Lizard crashes before the manual covers much.

Well, a year maybe.

That was what I was reading in Usenet, that Linux was good, but still
wasn't as heavy a hitter as SCO..... given sufficient hardware that is.
Linux would run as well, or better on lesser hardware, but after if
given high end (current, high end) hardware SCO would smoke Linux.
