Heh, heh, heh, ha, ha ha,ha!

You are right! It is so secure, that last night I saw on the news where
someone broke into the intermost secured internals of MS and stole all kinds
of their software including stuff being developed, internal memos and left a
threat message extorting monies from MS or the hacker would start posting
his/her cracks!!!!!!

Man is your timing GREAT!-:)-:)-:)-:)

Wonder why MS developed XENIX??????????????????-:)-:)-:)-:)

MS has already realsed Linux versions of some of their software and working
on more!-:)

There are still people running CP/M on IBM PCs! But get this: CP/M was
designed after UNIX! MSDOS was virtually stolen from CP/M!

Some of the Preschools/headstart schools around here are still using
APPLE ][e, ][c, ][c+, and ][gs computers. I tried to talk them into
switching to IBM PCs when I was a consultant for them. The cost of
replacement parts were getting very expensive, but they just did not have
enough money to convert. I suggested that they just convert one or schools
at a time. They had about eight schools. I would dupe their copy protected
diskettes on my IBM PC. (I have a Central Point Deluxe Option Board which
will allow me to do this.) These little kids (rascals?) would stick playing
cards into the floppy drives and mess up the upper head on the 3-1/2" drives
of the ][c+. The 5-/14" drives were not hurt in this manner. I wopuld find
all kinds of things stuffed into these computers.-:) That was a few tears
ago, I don't know what they are using now.

I have both GEM and GEOS. In fact I have a DOS version of AOL which used
GEOS but did not use a WEB browser. The problems I have had with both of
these is the lack of high resolution graphics and drivers for video cards.
Both of these more or less got crushed when Gates came out with inept
WINDOZE. I got my dirst version of WINDOZE for my 286, I order the 286
version, v2.0. I thought it sucked big time compared to GEM and
PPLE ][ ProDOS on an APPLE ][gs. We even stuck an 8086 CPU card in it to run
IBM software and Gates crap for software. Apple had GUI long before Gates
stole the idea.

Does anyone have any 1.x versions of GEM? I have just about everything I can
find for 2.x and 3.0. I need high resolution video card drivers for all
version if any are available. I am not certain if I ever got EGA resolution
to work with my video card. I know I could bot get VGA to work. I do have an
old Trident Super EGA card (800x560 EGA & VGA connectors) that might work.
One of these days, I will probably build up a DOS only box. I have enough
left over junk stitting around to do it

I think GEOS is still commercial and programs are still being written for
it. I have not found good video drivers for it either.
