W98 requires 66mhz but this can be defeated using a command line switch
with setup.exe. W95 worked quite well on a 486 DX2 for me with 24mb but
only until I took out the fast IDE HDD and replaced it with older, slower,
spares.

If you use 98Lite, W98 is doable on a DX2. In fact, I wouldn't use W98 on
my P120 without 98Lite.
