You are correct, Philippe. Here's the breakdown as I understand it; Windows 3.0 will run in real mode on an 8086/8088 (but why would you want to?), in standard mode on a 286 and 386 enhanced on a 386 or higher. Windows 3.1/3.11 does not have real mode. The above on the 286 and 386 remains the same. Windows for Workgroups 3.1/3.11 only operates in 386 enhanced mode, and only a 386 or higher will run it. Windows 95 will run on a 386DX/16 or higher. I've done it on a 386DX/25 with 4 megs of RAM, but again the question is, "why would you want to"? I wouldn't even try on a regular basis under less than a 486DX2/66 with 16 megs of RAM. BTW, somebody somewhere was asking about running Win95 under another DOS; the scuttlebutt during the Caldera lawsuit was that they HAD a machine running Win95 under DR-DOS with just a small TSR to provide a few functions that DR-DOS didn't have.
