Subject: More ranting.. DOS, Windoz,etc

Recently, I was "forced" to use a "MAC" G3....

My memories from 9-years ago seemed to be reinforced.

The methodology for using, installing, etc was not for humans...
  - I love to "hack", but this effort was a waste! (even the experts
could not get it to work!)

The "intuitive" system is not "intuitive " to users, only Apple
programmers!!!

Messages told me to do "this", then said I shouldn't have done that
?????

Windoz is better and new Linux distributions are 50x better....

The point is: it's a machine that does what its told to do, at some
point the user and/or
programmer must know how to instruct the computer what needs to be
done....

DOS borrows much from the Unix command structure, functionality is less
but often
ability to use/understand is more.

Generally DOS is simple(for an OS), but effective for most users. Add a
few utilities and it can
become a very productive system.

I never used windoz until 1996, when my job required I use AOL ! It
seems years ago now,
but maybe because of all the headaches trying to get 3.11 and NT to do
something :=)

Long live DOS !!!!

Neal
