Thank you all for your responses - there's quite a bit of information
there.

The dir wasn't created from USING the recycle bin,as I wouldn't have
used it on that partition. I did notice the same time on the dir on
different disks and,as I think back,I remember I DID do a re-install of
Win98 at about that time (I was running Win95 and 98lite,and had a
program giving me trouble in both,so I went back to the proper
Win98. Alas,it still doesn't work - just a crappy program).

As for attrib,it didn't recognise that the directory was there. "dir
/a" was what revealed it's presence (I don't remember what initially
prompted me to do this, but I remember SOMETHING alerted me to the fact
that something fishy was going on),and I could "cd" into it,but no other
commands worked on that dir.

Since it seems to have been created with the install,I guess what I
need to do is put the DR-DOS partitions in AFTER I have done all my
Windows installing (I want to put 98lite in again, but run it in tandem
with Win98 for a while, and see the differences).

I originally had 6.0. I had to abandon that when there was some
software I wanted to run which was only available for Win95 or Mac (which
also meant I had to "upgrade" from 3.11 to 95). After I found out about
the "loader" command,I got 7.03 (but was disappointed that I couldn't use
"diskopt" or "delwatch" on the disk). Now that I have a NEW computer,I
have enough resources to run multiple partitions (but I'd still prefer a
DR-DOS that can cope with long-filenames,and FAT32).

Speaking of 7.03,anyone know how to kill the cruiser in stage 4 of
Netwars? :-) I've tried guns and missiles to no avail - I guess you have
to hit a certain SPOT (or a certain number of times). And has anyone used
a joystick with 7.03? It doesn't seem to come with any joystick drivers
(can't find anything in dosbook).
