"A new drive" in "a pc" - please give some information about the drive and
the pc.  For example, how many MB or GB does the new drive have?  How old
is the pc?  Have you tried to install an OS other than DR-DOS or OpenDOS?

Do you mean it boots only with a diskette AND with the old drive as master,
or it only boots from diskette OR from the old drive?
Can you fdisk and format the new drive when the old drive is installed as
master?  Does fdisk see the full capacity of the drive, or at least 8G if the
drive is larger than that?
